£3,750 for injured cleaner
Margaret Radford was working as a cleaner, when a wall-mounted clock fell onto her foot, breaking her big toe. She took her claim for accident compensation to Rapid Solicitors. A source at Rapid said: “Our client was cleaning a wall-mounted alcohol dispenser when the clock fell, causing a nasty injury. An employer has a duty to ensure a safe working environment. To position a heavy clock above a hand dispenser and then fail to secure it with the right fixings was dangerous. It could have fallen at any time and the consequences could have been far worse. We presented our case to the Defendants who admitted liability. The injury kept Mrs Radford from working for a while, so we were able to recover loss of earnings as well as compensation for pain and suffering. The clock is now in a secure position”
