Injured biker’s £20,000 council victory
David Bennett suffered broken ribs and a broken shoulder blade when his local Council altered the road layout but failed to remove the old Cat’s Eyes. That meant that the safety reflectors, which were formerly situated in the centre of the road on a sharp bend, were now located in the middle of one of the lanes. Mr Bennett skidded on the Cat’s Eyes as he tried to negotiate the bend and was thrown off his bike. Personal Injury Law experts, Rapid Solicitors, took up his case. They won substantial compensation for him at trial, for his injuries and also for damage to his bike and gear. A Senior Solicitor at Rapid said: “The Council denied liability all the way through the case. After we had won the case at trial, the Council then appealed the decision and we won the case again on appeal before a higher judge. We really went the extra mile for our client.” Mr Bennett said: “Rapid did really well and beat the Council twice. They really looked after me, not only by winning damages for my injuries and bike, but by sorting out private medical treatment for me after the crash.”
